Milica Dabovic is a retired Serbian professional women’s basketball player. Her biggest achievements are winning a gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 with the Serbian national team. This victory also qualified Serbia for the 2016 Summer Olympics, a first in the team’s history, where they won a bronze medal. She announced her retirement from professional basketball after this achievement.
Milica Dabovic was born on February 16, 1982, in Cetinje, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia. She started in basketball at an early age and showed great skills and passion in sports.
Milica Dabovic was a member of Partizan until August 2013, contributing to the team’s remarkable achievement of remaining unbeaten throughout the 2012–13 season. Following this, she transferred to the Croatian club Novi Zagreb, where she signed a one-year contract to compete in the EuroLeague Women.
Milica Dabovic served as the captain of the Serbian national team during the EuroBasket 2015 held in Budapest. Unfortunately, she sustained an elbow injury in the final, which hindered her participation in the second half of the match. Nevertheless, Serbia triumphed over France in the final, securing the gold medal and earning a spot in the 2016 Summer Olympics, marking a historic first for the Serbian team. In 2016, she declared her retirement from professional basketball after achieving a bronze medal with Serbia at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
