Promise Amukamara is a basketball player who serves as a point guard for the Charnay BB club in the Ligue Feminine de Basketball. She was born in the United States and represents Nigeria on the international stage.
Promise Amukamara was born on June 22, 1993, in New Jersey, United States. She graduated from Arizona State University and is the younger sister of Prince Amukamara, a Super Bowl XLVI Champion and former cornerback for the New York Giants.
Promise Amukamara is part of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team. She played as the point guard for the team that competed in the 2020 Olympic Games held in Tokyo. Additionally, she took part in the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. In 2024, she was a member of the Nigerian squad that reached the Olympic quarterfinals before being defeated by the United States.
In 2011, she was named Arizona’s Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year and became the first female graduate of Arizona State University to make an Olympic basketball team, where she averaged 10 points per game.
Promise Amukamara is also a member of the 2019 FIBA African Championship Gold Medal team that participated in the Pre-Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
